Obituary for Leonard Michael Zawalski
Leonard Michael Zawalski, 80, of Brick passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 18, 2016 surrounded by his family. Mr. Zawalski was an IT Manager at Prudent Publishing in Ridgefield Park before retiring in 2005. He served his country stateside in the US Army during the Korea War from 1955-1957.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he lived in Bloomfield, Clifton and Highland Lakes before moving to Brick this past year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Anna Zawalski and by his daughter, Deborah Martino. Surviving is his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy Lynn Zawalski; daughters, Carol Kleinberg and her husband, Stuart of Scottsdale, AZ, Julie Gallagher and her husband, Charles of Atlantic Highlands, Sue Gearst and her husband, John of Lyman, SC, and Janel Lee and her husband, Josh of Brick; brother, Jerry Zawalski of Florida; sisters, Christine Falkowski of Arlington Heights, IL, Margaret Van Wynsberghe of Metamora, MI and Alice Klein of Illinois; as well as two grandchildren, Hannah and Linda Gallagher.
Visiting will be on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted on Friday 7:30pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be held privately. Donations made to the Lustgarden Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
