Obituary for Ann E. Noonan (Kearns)

Ann E. Noonan (Kearns)
Ann E Noonan (nee Kearns) died on January 20, 2017, due to complications from Alzheimer’s. She was just a few days shy of her 90th birthday. For the past twelve months, she had lived at Brandywine Senior Living in Wall, NJ.

Born January 29th 1927, in Newark NJ, Ann graduated from Good Counsel High School and Berkley Secretarial School. She was employed as a legal secretary with prestigious Newark law firms until she put her career on hold to be a “stay at home Mom” to raise her six children. She returned to her profession in 1974 with the Carton Law Firm of Tinton Falls, NJ, following which she served as office manager of RCH Investments of Red Bank from which she retired in 2000 at age 73.

She lived in New Jersey her entire life, including owning homes in Belleville, Nutley and Mantoloking before moving to the golf community of Fairway Mews in Spring Lake Heights in 1982. There she was active on the social committee, in the book club and was a prolific contributor to the community newsletter, Mews News.
She was a woman of gifted intelligence as evidenced by her membership in the Mensa Society. She was also a proud member of The Women of Irish Heritage. As a steadfast FDR & JFK Democrat, she supported candidates in their election bids, and as a proud American, volunteered at the polls on election day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Nora Kearns, and brother John.
She leaves behind six children: Joanne (Michael), Jack (Kathy), Dennis (Jim), Katie (Bob), Emma, and Deirdre (Brian); five grandchildren: Sarah, Tyler, Abbey, Joshua, and Adam. And also her beloved grand-dog, Pandy.
She was loved by her relatives, numerous friends, and the amazing staff of Brandywine and Vitas hospice.
She loved flowers but if you'd rather make a donation in her memory, please send it to The Popcorn Zoo in Forked River, NJ or Vitas Hospice. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 3-7 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.
