Obituary for William Hayden

William Hayden, 87, of Brick, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017.
Mr. Hayden was born and raised in Manhattan. He lived in the Bronx, and in Point Pleasant for many years, before moving to Brick 14 years ago. He was a bartender for many years, at Harrigan’s Pub in Sea Girt, The Bluffs in Bay Head, and the Point Pleasant Elks Lodge, before retiring. He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed gardening and reading.
Mr. Hayden is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathleen (nee McDermott), and by his sons, Russell and Stuart Hayden. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Russell, Chadwick, Zachary, Tyler and Denise Hayden, his great-grandsons, Henry and Harry Hayden, and his brother, George Hayden. Also surviving are his former daughter-in-law, Donette Hayden, and nephews and nieces.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM, followed by cemetery committal. Flowers are welcome, as are donations in Bill’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
