Martha A. Allen, 86, of Whiting, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Willow Springs Care Center, Brick.
Mrs. Allen was born and raised in Jersey City. She lived in Howell for many years, where she raised her children. She moved to Whiting several years ago. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Allen was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2001, and by her daughter, Nancy, in 2016. She was also predeceased by her brother, Edward Dumbeck. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Sajjad Gilani, and Susan and Howard Witzgall, all of Brick. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Angela Fulton, her brother, Daniel Bertschy, of Las Vegas, numerous nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, from 1-3 and 6-8 PM, with a service at 7:30 PM. A committal service will be held at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery Chapel, Arneytown, on Thursday, February 23rd, at 1 PM.
