Regina A. Nolan, 88, of Wall, and formerly of Bayonne, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
Mrs. Nolan (nee Rush) was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident there before moving to Wall in 2012, to be near her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loyal alumna of Holy Family Academy, Bayonne, and attended Chestnut Hill College. She was a devout Catholic, who was a lifelong parishioner at St. Henry’s Church, Bayonne, and in recent years at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Avon. She had a 30-year career in banking with The Trust Company of New Jersey, Jersey City, retiring as Assistant Treasurer and Director of Check Processing. She was devoted to her family throughout her life, whether it was caring for her mother, or closely following the education, careers and activities of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved discussing politics and attending family gatherings, and especially sitting for the photos of four generations of the women of her family.
Mrs. Nolan was predeceased by her parents, Frank (Bayonne Fire Dept.) and Alice Rush, her son John R. (Jay) Nolan, Jr., her husband, John R. Nolan, and her brother, Frank Rush. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kathleen N. and Holger Ahl, and Christopher J. and Julie Nolan, all of Wall. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, L. Patrick Dacey, Esq., and Kelly Dacey, of Wall, and Meghan and David Walker, of Oceanport. She was the beloved great-grandmother of Abaigeal and Nolan Dacey, and Grace and Jack Walker.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday, March 12, 2017, from 2-6 PM. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Avon, on Monday, at 10 AM, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donation in Mrs. Nolan’s memory may be made to Mercy Center, 1106 Main St., Asbury Park, NJ 07712.
