Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Lamia Jacob can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Lamia (Jaghab) Jacob, 88, of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mrs. Jacob was the proud owner of Tammy’s Deli in Somerset, NJ. She enjoyed cooking from scratch with love for her family and showcased her talents for many walks of life at the deli over the years. She also was a proud immigrant from Rammallah, Palestine where she was born. She came to the United States in 1944 in search of freedom and the American dream. She settled in Scotch Plains and lived in Plainfield, South and North Plainfield and Somerset before moving to Brick in 2004.
Mrs. Jacob was predeceased most recently by her sister, Shiffa Jaghab and by her other siblings many years ago. Surviving is her loving husband of 55 years, Badi Jacob; sons, Eddie Jacob of Toms River, Zuhair N. Jacob of Palm Coast, FL and Ziadeh B. Jacob and his wife, Stacey of Brick; daughter, Christine N. Bourbeau and her husband, Marc of Bloomfield, CT; brother, John Jaghab and his wife Wendy of Marlboro; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and on Wednesday from 10am-11am at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be offered on Wednesday 11am in the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
