Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Meghan Rizzo can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Meghan Ann Rizzo (Coppola)

Meghan Ann Rizzo 40, formerly of Ridgewood and Spring Lake, NJ died peacefully in the comfort of her family on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC.
Meghan lived an extraordinary life bringing together family and friends and showing compassion to others even as she bravely battled for more than five years with leukemia, a bi-lateral lung transplant and the many associated complications. Above all else was her determination to have as much time as possible with her children to prepare them to lead purposeful lives.
Meghan graduated from Manasquan High School and Saint Joseph’s University where she was a member of Alpha Phi. She was a registered organ and tissue donor. Her passion was increasing the availability of stem cell and organ and tissue donation to provide lifesaving support to as many people as possible.
Surviving Meghan are her devoted parents Peter and Sharon Coppola; her beloved husband David Rizzo and their 3 loving daughters, Madeleine, Noelle and Carys; her sister and stem cell donor, Krista Patterson, her husband Edward and their child Oliver; and her caring brother Michael Coppola and his wife Andrea.
Visiting will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:30 PM at St. George's-by-the-River Episcopal Church, 7 Lincoln Ave., Rumson, NJ.
