Obituary for John T. Langeveld

John T. Langeveld, 52, of Brielle, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 of congestive heart failure. Born on April 28, 1964 in Westwood, NJ and raised in Montvale, NJ, John lived in Brielle for the past 21 years. He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, Montvale, where he played football. He was also a graduate of Rider College where he earned his BS in Business Administration. John enjoyed spending time with his family, including his bulldog Hank. He also enjoyed spending time at the beach and vacations to Cape May. He was an avid gardener and landscaper. John passionately coached flag football for both of his sons in the Brielle Recreation League for 7 years. In response to John’s fun spirited coaching style of running up and down the sidelines yelling out plays to his team, they officially created the “Langeveld Box” to remind coaches where they could stand and where John often had to be reminded to stand. John was a loyal fan of the NY Giants. He knew every player who ever played on the team and every statistic of their career. His favorite players were LT and Eli Manning. He also admired coaches Bill Parcells and Tom Coughlin for the 4 Super Bowls they won with the Giants. He never missed a game and would call into the radio station The Fan after games to provide his analysis, “Hello John from Brielle”. NFL Sundays and Giants games will not be the same without John’s roar after every good play. Prior to his passing, John was the President of JNJ Global Logistics, an independent agency of Landstar, a logistics company he started with his wife Kathy in 2003. Prior to JNJ Global Logistics, John was the Director of Transportation for his family business, Langeveld Bulb Company, in Freehold, NJ.
John was predeceased by his mother Eleanor Langeveld in 2014. Surviving are his beloved wife of 19 years Kathy Langeveld, 2 loving sons Nicholas and Johnny both of Brielle, his father John P. Langeveld, of Tinton Falls, his sisters, Jeanette Adams and her husband Dan, of Jackson, Yvonne Prandato and her husband Mike of Barnegat, Patricia Langeveld, of Eatontown, Eleanor Langeveld, of Belvidere, Cynthia Langeveld, of Belmar and Shirley Karwowski and her husband Todd, of Brick.
