Anna Agnes Sorrentino, 95, of Brick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. Anna was a loving wife of 69 years, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was always involved in her family’s well-being, and her concern as well as pride for each member was unending. Her passions were in real estate, politics and her community. Anna started as a Deputy Court Clerk and worked in the zoning and building departments at town hall in Brick. She was a long time member of the Democratic Club and served as corresponding secretary and was also president of the Ocean County Democratic Women’s Club for 2 years. Anna retired in 1987 as a realtor and manager of Crossroad Realty, Brielle. During her long career she was the recipient of multiple “Million Dollar Sales Club Awards”. She also received continuous awards from the Seashore Multiple Listing System as a “Top 10” salesperson.
She was a PTA member for St. Peter’s School, Point Pleasant Beach, and for Brick Public Schools, as well as a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Dominic’s Church, Brick.
Anna was predeceased by her grandson, Brad Sorrentino; and by her son-in-law, Joseph Parisi. Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years, Mario Sorrentino; son, Louis Sorrentino and his wife, Brenda of Brick; daughter, Lucia Parisi of Brick; 2 grandchildren, Amy Keefe and her husband, Jimmy, Justin Sorrentino and his wife, Devon all of Brick; as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Sergio, Gianni, Kendall, Lia, Reagan and Shae.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be offered at 7:30pm in the funeral home. Final interment will be private. Donations may be made in her name to the NJ Sharing Network.
