Obituary for Louis J Ploskonka

Louis  J  Ploskonka
Louis J. Ploskonka, age 77, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday April 23, 2017 at Meridian Rehab in Brick, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was married to Barbara (Lella) Ploskonka for 49 wonderful years. Born and raised in South Amboy, NJ, Louis lived in Middletown for 32 years before moving to Brick 17 years ago.
Mr. Ploskonka was a Math Teacher at Red Bank Regional High School, Little Silver, NJ; having retired after 35 years of dedicated service, and was also a Public Accountant where he served as owner of L.J. Ploskonka Associates Accounting Firm in South Amboy, NJ for over 40 years.
Louis was a communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. In his spare time, he loved to play golf and was an avid NY Giants fan. Louis thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and cherished gatherings on the back deck.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife Barbara of 49 years; his son Kenneth Ploskonka and his wife Kimberly; his daughters, Deborah Couts and her husband Raymond, Susan McNamara and her husband Joseph and Marianne Ploskonka. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Alexa, Allison, Connor and Brooke, whom he cherished dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1st, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s Church, 250 Old Squan Rd., Brick.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org) and the American Cancer Society.
