Obituary for Thomas E. "Tommy" Welch III

Thomas E. "Tommy" Welch III
Thomas Edward Welch III, 54, of Toms River, passed away on April 22, 2017. A member of the Holmdel High School class of 1981, he was a formidable force in a band of lifelong friendships. From the moment Tommy arrived everything changed.
Tommy leaves us with a legacy of great memories and even greater friends. If you were a friend of Tommy’s you were a friend for life. He was an amazing father to his three children, a wonderful brother to his two sisters, a caring nephew to his adoring aunts and a source of great love to his mom Claire. His passion for sports led him to be an all-around varsity athlete. Tommy had a passion for life and loved and adored his three children, Shannon, Thomas and Noelle.
Tommy’s fantastic sense of humor paired with his innocent, devilish smile carried him through life’s experiences. The memories of this dynamic combination will be cherished by us all.
His idols were Larry Bird, Gene Simmons, Frank Zappa, and The Ramones and his favorite movie was Good Fellas. Not necessarily in that order. This alone tells you something about Tommy.
Tommy was Vice President of consolidation for The Gilbert Company for over 25 years.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Edward Welch, Jr. He is survived by his children Shannon, Thomas, and Noelle Welch, and their mother Kathleen; his life partner, Victoria Amogretti and her son, Peter; his mother, Claire Welch-Majeski and stepfather Anthony Majeski; his sister, Tracy Welch Portmann and her children, Oliver, Blake, Lili, and Chase; his sister and brother in law, Leslie and Jay Campbell, and their children, Ella and Jack; his stepbrother, TJ Majeski and his wife Anna; his stepsister, Robin Majeski; and his beloved Boston aunts, Ann, Barbara, Ellen, and Cathy.
Memorial Visitation will be Friday April 28th 2017 from 4pm-8pm at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday April 29th 2017 at 9:15 am, St. Catharine’s RC Church 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ. Entombment at Holmdel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Welch Children Fund, c/o Leslie Welch Campbell, PO Box 6532, Fair Haven, and NJ 07704.
