Condolence From: Frank Simmonds
Condolence: I just learned of my dear friends passing. I had tried to contact her several times and I feared the news but until now it was uncertain.
She was a character !
I met her the Fall of 1968 at Point Pleasant Beach High School. She was a secretary in the school's office. Well that may be what her job description was but from what I saw...she ran the place.
Over the the years at PPBHS we developed a friendship. I would find a reason to go to the office and we would talk and joke but oh my anyone with an attitude or bad manners got a look that would freeze a polar bear.
She was the Katherine Hepburn of our school, a quick wit and spirited personality.
On occasions I would be a tad bit late for school. I remember a particular occasion when I had my Mom write a note that said, "Please excuse Frank's tardiness as a Martian ship landed in our yard last night and it caused a giant hedge to grow and surround our house and Frank had to hack his way thru it to get to school". I remember watching her try to feign anger at my being late while reading the note. She shook her head and gave me a slip to get to class.
We stayed in touch long after high school. She was always a welcome guest when we celebrated my mothers birthday at the Shrimp Box or Charlie Brown's. About 10 year's ago when I had gone to her home in Point Pleasant to get her and chauffeur her over to such a gathering she handed me a piece of paper. I was amazed and amused and it proved what a remarkable woman she was...she had saved that note from 1972 the one about the Martians.
While I am very sad that I only now have learned of her passing I consider myself blessed to have had the honor to have known her for many years beyond high school.

Condolence: My deepest condolences. She was a great lady and I will always remember talking to her a few years ago when I was calling Jill about substituting. I know how tough it is. As old as they get, we still want them around longer. But your mother and my father are in a better place.

Condolence: Jill:
We are all sorry to hear of (mom) Jean's passing on. Even though it was not unexpected it is still difficult to accept. She was a wonderful woman, great to be with and she really made dad very happy. Actually, you and your mom made dad happy. We are glad they had those years together. If there is anything that we can do to help you, please call.
Love,
Joe, Susan, Karen, Allison
