Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Asunta DeVenero can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Asunta Susan  DeVenero (Lanci)
Asunta Susan DeVenero, 88, of Point Pleasant passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Born and raised in Plainfield, she lived in New Market and Brick for many years before moving to Point Pleasant 17 years ago. Mrs. DeVenero was a former committee women and Girl Scout Leader while living in Brick and was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She was married to her late husband for 70 years and enjoyed travelling the country in their RV as well as square dancing together. She was a talented seamstress and one heck of a Bridge player.
Predeceased by her husband, Richard H. DeVenero in 2016; father, Charles Lanci; mother, Frances Angelino; and by her sister, Elizabeth Eodice.
Surviving are her son, Richard James DeVenero and his wife, Marsha of Byram Twp.; daughters, Frances S. Lee of Seaside Park, Susan Denise Cervone of Stony Brook, NY and Mary Hill and her husband, David of Barnegat; grandchildren, Debi Cagliostro and her husband, Larry, Richard Lee and his wife, Charlene, Michael Lee, Jennifer Cervone, Amanda Cervone, Susan DeVenero, Kimberly DeVenero, Rinni DeVenero, Richard A DeVenero, Kristi Hayes and her husband, Cliff, Emily Hill and David Hill; and great grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Madeline, Skylar, Audrey and Ellie.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be held on Thursday 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children Research Foundation.
