Obituary for Marion Ruth DuMont (Boote)
Marion Ruth DuMont (Boote), 84, of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, July, 8, 2017 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Mrs. DuMont worked at the Bound Brook Trust Company before completing her associate’s degree in medical technology. She then went on to work as a medical assistant at Hematology and Oncology Inc. in Plainfield before retiring in 1994. She was a communicant of St. Martha’s RC Church in Point Pleasant and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2137 in Bridgewater. She also was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years and enjoyed ceramics and playing Mahjong.
Born and raised in Plainfield and Middlesex, she raised her family in Somerville before moving to Brick 17 years ago.
Mrs. DuMont was predeceased by her parents, Sidney and Beatrice Boote and by her sister, Beverly Robertson. Surviving is her husband of 56 years, Robert Arthur DuMont; daughter, Robin Ann DuMont-Klein of Point Pleasant; 3 grandchildren, Zachary Issac, Alexys Rose and Nicholas Owen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, loving family members and dear friends.
Viewing will be on Tuesday from 4-7pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be held at 7pm in the funeral home. Cremation will be private. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation.
