Maureen E. Mahoney, 61, of Neptune, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at her home.

Maureen was born in Point Pleasant and was a lifelong resident of the Shore area. She was a 1973 graduate of Wall High School, where she was a flag twirler and a sorority member. She also graduated from Bethany College in West Virginia, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She worked in retail sales and management for many years, at Steinbach and A & S, and more recently, as a sales professional in the beauty industry for Goldwell. Maureen was also an accomplished artist who created beautiful ceramic pieces (the Mo'sArt line). She was past president of the League of Women Voters of Ocean Township.

Maureen was predeceased by her parents Daniel A. and Elizabeth (nee Kertacy) Mahoney. She is survived by her siblings Patricia A. Mahoney of Alexandria, Virginia, and Daniel A. Mahoney of Greenville, Tennessee.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from 4:00 – 8:00PM with a funeral service to follow at 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maureen’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
