Obituary for Anthony F Notaro Sr.

Anthony  F  Notaro  Sr.
Anthony F Notaro, Sr. 90, of Lakewood NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 23rd at Ocean Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1927 Anthony was a proud resident until his retirement in 1995 from the New York City Police Department.

Anthony served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945 and upon his return married the love of his life, Isabell Badolato in 1949. Anthony joined the NYPD in 1954 and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. He was active in the Knights of Columbus fraternal organization for many years and was elected to state office. Upon his retirement, Anthony and Isabell moved to Lakewood, NJ to be close to their grandchildren. Although Anthony moved out of NYC, his time spent in Brooklyn was always on his mind, and he spoke about his glory days until the very end.

Anthony is survived by his son Anthony, Jr. and his wife Susan and her children Lauren and Christopher, his son Kenneth and his wife Barbara and their children Lindsay and Bradley. He was extremely close to his family, neighbors and his companion, Nina Rinaudo.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 26th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick NJ. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 27th at St Dominic’s Church, Brick NJ at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at St Catharine’s Cemetery in Wall Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society
