Lionel Clayton of Wall Township passed away July 24, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his parents Lionel and Ina Clayton and his son Michael Clayton. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann, his daughter Kathleen Clayton, Wall and his son and daughter-in-law Tim and Lisa Clayton, Wall. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joseph, Kimberly, Caitlin and Timothy Patrick and his four sisters Nancy, Alice, Betty and Gladys.
Lionel was born in Neptune and lived his whole life in Monmouth County, the last 38 years in Wall Township.
He served 8 years as a member of the NJ National Guard and was a 45 year member of the IBEW working in various construction projects in NJ.
Lionel was an avid fisherman and loved boating along the Jersey shore.
At the request of the family, there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, NJ. Interment will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Wall.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
