Rita Rose Morgan, 90, of Manasquan, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Weehawkin, Rita’s curiosity and smarts led her to numerous careers, most recently in retail where her days at The Butterfly House in Brielle brought her so much joy. She was a proud member of the Manasquan River Golf Club, Manasquan River Yacht Club, and the Bay Head Yacht Club. She devoted countless hours to her love of needlepoint. To know Rita was to know her love of cards – she played cards wherever she went (Atlantic City, cruises) and was proud to be a Master Bridge Player. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Rita was predeceased by her husband Chester, her daughter Annette, and her brothers Warren and Henry, Jr. She leaves her daughters – Cindy Brodbeck of Brielle, Janice MacPherson & husband Rob of Manasquan, and Kathy Morea of California; grandchildren Courtney and Eliot; great grandchildren Henry and Jack, and many loving relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Rita on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11am at the Church of St. Uriel the Archangel, Sea Girt.
