Obituary for Rosemarie Sisti

Rosemarie Damian Martino Sisti, 91, of Spring Lake, passed away at her home on Monday,
August 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Sisti was born in Newark NJ, and moved to Maplewood when she was three years old. In
1953, she moved to Spring Lake after marrying Anthony “Bud” Sisti. She was a graduate of St.
Leo’s Grammar School, Irvington, and Columbia High School, Maplewood. She received a
Bachelor of Science in Business & Accounting from Caldwell College for Women, in Caldwell
NJ, which is now known as Caldwell University. She was employed by Blanchard Builders,
Newark, Igoe Brothers, Newark, and Irvington Varnish and Insulator, a division of 3M.
Mrs. Sisti was a member of the Caldwell College Alumnae Association and Past-President of the
Spring Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 432. She volunteered many years at Fitkin
Memorial Hospital Gift Shop prior to it becoming Jersey Shore Medical Center. She assisted
Sister Rose at St. Catharine’s for several years. She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church
of Spring Lake.
Mrs. Sisti was predeceased by her parents, Christine and Rocco Martino; her husband of 57
years, Anthony “Bud” Sisti; her identical twin sister Dolores Cosmos Martino Piscitello and her
husband Francis Piscitello. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Andy and Andi
Sisti of Allenwood, John and Mariane Sisti of Spring Lake, Rosemarie and Jim Turner of Spring
Lake Heights, and Maryjo and Chris Lutick of Wall.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Sarah McInnes, Beth Shuman, Jessie Mucha; Ben,
Mary and Hannah Sisti; Laura, Jill and Stephen Turner; and Amanda and Amy Lutick. She was
the beloved great grandmother of Maddie, Nate, Avvie, Sammy, Lucy, Luke, Erik, Astrid, and
Eli. Mrs. Sisti is also survived by her sister Francis Martino Kinyon and her husband John H.
“Jack” Kinyon, as well as by several nephews and nieces.
In accordance with Mrs. Sisti’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral Mass will be
celebrated at St. Margaret’s Church, Spring Lake, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 10:30 AM,
followed by entombment at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Mrs. Sisti’s memory may be made to Caldwell University Annual Fund, c/o Office of
