Obituary for Callan Dominic Costa

Callan Dominic Costa, age 3, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Raised in Point Pleasant, Callan was surrounded by family and friends that loved him immensely and would do anything to see him happy. His gigantic smile and infectious laugh would light up the world. You didn’t even need to see it as it could be felt and heard from miles away. Callan was unique and special in so many ways, but it was his silliness and amazing sense of humor that made him who he was.
Callan loved music and food – especially watermelon and pancakes – and would play with his pretend ice cream and coffee all day long. He was a true beach boy as the ocean was his favorite place to be as well as walks to the inlet with his Papa.
Callan had the most loving family that any little boy could have wished for. His parents, Joseph and Shana Costa, loved him more than anyone could love another living thing, and will miss him everyday for the rest of their lives. Callan adored being a big brother to his little brother Chase, and will forever live in Chase’s heart as he grows up. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Pattie Loughran and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Jeanne Costa; his Aunts and Uncles, Brian and Summer Loughran, Kevin and Kristin Loughran, Frank Jr. and Barbara Costa, Anthony and Jessica Costa, Vincent and Estefania Costa; and his cousins, Ki, Cianna, Aidan, Ava, Connor, Emilia, Luke, Maia and Matteo.
Joseph and Shana would also like to recognize all of Callan’s extended family and friends that loved and supported him along the way. His Abilities in Action family became some of Callan’s best friends, and we are forever grateful for the love that they showed our son.
Rest easy our big boy – you are now free to fly!!
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s RC Church, Point Pleasant Beach. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Brielle.
