Obituary for William Joseph "Billy" Egan

William “Billy” Joseph Egan, 29, of Asbury Park died Saturday August 12, 2017.
Billy was born in Point Pleasant and was raised in Spring Lake Heights. He attended St. Catharine’s Grammar School and Manasquan High School where he played both Varsity Football and Hockey.
He graduated from Rutgers University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
Billy had an entrepreneurial spirit and was a lover of music and the arts. He assisted in producing many local concerts and artists, benefiting various charities throughout the area. He was a self-employed Photographer and Event Planner. Billy was a mentor to many young people who struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Billy was predeceased by his father, William J. Egan and his grandparents Joan Long Egan and John Jules Egan, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother Jeanne Saunders Egan, his brother Neil, sister Megan, nephew Miles, his girlfriend Jamie Marie and his grandparents, Paul and Clairita Saunders formerly of Spring Lake as well as many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35, Wall, Wednesday from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, on Thursday, August 17, at 10:30am. Please meet at church. Interment will be private.
