Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Helen Leischker can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Helen M. Leischker

Helen M.  Leischker
Helen M. (McCully) Leischker, 97, of Lakewood passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick surrounded by her family. Mrs. Leischker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very active in the Leisure Village East community, formerly serving on the Board of Trustees. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Point Pleasant and enjoyed playing bridge.
Born and raised in Jersey City, she lived in Rutherford, Brick and Point Pleasant before moving to Lakewood in 1977.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J.W. Leischker in 1976. Surviving are her son, George E. Leischker and his wife, Sharleen of Jackson; daughters, Suzanne Rafter and her husband, Francis of Lakewood; and Karen Koscinski and her husband, Jack of Flemington. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to either the St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation or the Jersey Shore Animal Center.
