Kathryn L. Harmer, age 101, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home in Brick. Born and raised in Bayonne, Kathryn has resided in Brick for the past 20 years.

Kathryn worked as a School Teacher for the Bayonne Board of Education for 43 years retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Harmer was a Communicant of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick, was a member of the Rosary Society and was a girl scout leader for many years.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent J. Harmer; her sisters, Margaret Kunzman and Mary Taylor; her brother, Thomas Beirne; her nephews, Alfred and Thomas Kunzman.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Geri Bundy and her husband Henry, Elaine Cullen and her husband Kevin and Maureen Harmer; her five grandchildren, Joseph Bundy, Christie Sparandera, Shannon Velardi, Jacquelyn Bundy and Matthew Bundy; her eight great grandchildren, Thomas Gabriel, Timothee Peter and Jakob Dylan Sparandera, Nicholas Alexander, Brandon Hunter and Derek Jeter Velardi, Arianna Rose and Olivia Marie Bundy and her two nephews, Kenneth F.X. Kunzman and Robert Taylor.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick followed by the interment at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Morganville.
