Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Helen Spellman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Helen S. Spellman, 93 of Brick passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2017 Shorrock Gardens Care Center in Brick. Mrs. Spellman retired as a front end manager at Stop & Shop in Lakewood. She was a shop steward and member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local # 1262. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and watching the ponies at Monmouth Race Track.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Spellman in 1985; parents, George and Catherine Buntele; and 3 brothers, Arthur, Leonard, and William Buntele. Surviving are her daughters, Carol Scott of Brick, Susan Neumann-Taylor and her husband, Jon of Brick and Cathy Bryant-Boyd and her husband, William of Brick; 8 grandchildren, Dana Havens, Victoria Kavanagh and her husband, Brendan, Jeffrey Scott and his wife, Nicole, Kevin Scott and his wife, Heather, Robert Neumann, Paul Neumann and his wife, Robin, Paul K. Bryant-Swierczewski and his husband, John and Caitlyn Bryant; 18 great grandchildren; a nephew, Richard Buntele and his wife, Pat; as well as other nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday 10am at Epiphany RC Church, Brick. Burial will follow at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.
