The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Arlene Grant can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Arlene E. Grant (Reynolds)

Arlene E. Grant, 72, of Howell passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 04, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Grant was an assistant director in the school religious department at St. William the Abbot RC Church in Howell. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a soccer mom and a stage mom and taking a strong interest in all the kids’ activities.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she lived in Pensacola, FL and Breezy Point, NY before moving to Howell 10 years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Grant in 2011. Surviving are her sons, John Grant II of New York, and Gregory A. Grant of Howell; daughter, Christine A Urrego of Howell; sisters, Rita Hurley of Breezy Point, NY, Dolores Meerman of Warrenton, VA and Celeste Freeman of Ruckersville, VA; and 5 grandchildren, Daisy, Ariana, Amber, Kiersten and Grant.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday 10:30am at St. William the Abbot RC Church, Howell. Burial will follow 1pm in the chapel at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. Donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation or to St. William the Abbot RC Church.
