Obituary for Mary Terese Stanzel (McDermott)
Mary Terese Stanzel, 91, of Brick Township and a longtime resident of Manasquan passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.
Mary was born in Lynn, Mass to the late William and Grace Nelson McDermott. She grew up in Roselle, New Jersey and spent her childhood summers in Portland, Maine. She resided in Manasquan before moving to her Cedar Village Community in Brick Township 15 years ago.
Mary was active in her community at Cedar Village, and was an avid bingo player who enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and playing the lottery. She was also a talented quilter and painter, and crossword aficionado.
She was predeceased by her husband Emil Joseph Stanzel in 1992, her parents and her 3 siblings.
Mary is survived by her 3 devoted daughters Dana Kuchar of Metuchen, Jody Kaar of Warren, and Lori Palmer of Haddonfield, as well as her 6 cherished grandchildren Tracy Kuchar, Rebecca Beyus, Jackie Paltjon, Jana Nowak, Gillian and Nicholas Palmer, her 7 great grandchildren, and her nephew Scott Austin.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, all services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the directions of the O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.
