Gail Kniffen, 79, Leisure Village East, Lakewood, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Gail was a secretary at Rutgers University Animal Science Department, New Brunswick, and Rutgers University Medical School Psychiatry Department, Piscataway, for over 35 years.

Born in New Brunswick, she grew up in South River, and lived in New Brunswick, Morganville, and North Branch, before moving to Lakewood 15 years ago. Gail was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of her dog Angel.

Gail was predeceased by her husband, Donald M. Kniffen. Surviving are her stepsons, Daniel Kniffen and Donald M. Kniffen, Jr., her sister, Carol Dobry and brother-in law, Paul V. Dobry, her nephews and nieces, Mark Dobry, Vance Dobry, Paul V. Dobry, Jr., Faith Dobry, and Laura Dobry, and eight great nephews and nieces.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St. Martha's RC Church in Point Pleasant. Internment of Gail's remains will be private.
