Obituary for Michael F Bocchino Jr.

Michael F. Bocchino, Jr., age 89, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Willow Springs Nursing Home and Rehab in Brick. Born in Nyack, New York, Michael resided in Norwood, Bergen County before moving to Brick.

Michael served in the United States Army during World War II.

He and his brother Joe, owned and operated Jones Florist in Dumont, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion, and Knights of Columbus in Norwood.

Michael was a communicant of St. Martha’s RC Church in Point Pleasant.

He is predeceased by his brother Frank and his wife Betty; his brother Charles (Chubby) and his wife Joan; his sister Barbara and her husband August Caruso; and grandson, Jonathan Sutphen.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Marianna; his children Michael F. Bocchino III, Donna Sutphen and her husband John; his brother Joseph and his grandson Andrew.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1-5 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 25th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant. Cremation is private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or Wounded Warriors.
