Obituary for Donald P. Phair

Donald N. Phair, 89, of Wall, N.J. and South Harwich, Ma., passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
Mr. Phair was born in Orange and raised in West Orange. He lived in Whippany and Toms River for many years before moving to Wall to live with his daughter’s family several years ago. He also maintained a residence in South Harwich, Ma. for many years. He served in the Army during WWII, stationed in Japan. He was a proud alumnus of Lehigh University and went on to earn his Master’s Degree from N.J.I.T. He was a Chemical Engineer with Foster Wheeler for many years before retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, boating, painting and wood-carving.
Mr. Phair was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion in 2007, and by his son Richard and daughter Suzanne, both as teenagers. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Thomas Kelly, of Wall, and his grandchildren, Thomas, Brian, Lauren and Erin.
In accordance with Mr. Phair’s wishes, all services took place privately. He was buried alongside his wife and children at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J. Donations in his memory may be made to Boystown, 200 Flanagan Blvd., PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010, or via www.boystown.org.
