Obituary for John J. O'Brien

John J. O'Brien, 89, formerly of New York City passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Willow Springs in Brick. Mr. O'Brien worked many years as a maintenance supervisor with the New York Transit Authority in New York City before retiring. He was a proud member of Local 100 within the NYC Transit Authority. Born and raised in New York City he lived most of his life in Manhattan and Brooklyn before recently moving to Brick.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Julia O'Brien; his brothers, William O'Brien and Robert O'Brien; and brother-in-law, Robert Siesto. Surviving are his sister, Jean Siesto of Brick; brothers, Thomas O'Brien and his wife, Lillian of Florida, Richard O'Brien and his wife. Carol of Charlotte, NC and Patrick O'Brien and his wife, Gayle of Kingsley, PA. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10am at St. Dominic's RC Church in Brick. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
