Obituary for Carole A Plietz (Bifolco )

Carole Plietz, born February 12,1919 has joined her beloved Caesar in Heaven, on November 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Her 98 years on this earth were spent celebrating life with her husband of 71 years.

Carole was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Mary and Aniello Bifolco. She lived through WWII, moving around the states with her new husband until he was shipped overseas. She worked as a switchboard operator, secretary, raised three children, then returned to the workforce as a student loan coordinator for American Savings Bank in New York City.

After retiring, they moved to Greenbriar II in Brick NJ, where they enjoyed a wonderful community life. Carole and Caesar loved their travels to Europe, and enjoyed cruising to the islands. For 28 years, they enjoyed winters in Marco Island, Florida, where they provided winter vacations for the entire family.

Carole’s talent and love of singing brought her to the Greenbriar stage, where she performed, first as a singer soloist and dancer, then as co-director for the yearly Greenbriar Follies. She loved her Greenbriar life, home, and friends.

Carole lived a long, happy, and healthy life and was “Honey” to her beloved Caesar, “Mom” to Claudia & Don, Michele, Clinton & Sandy, and Bob, “Grandma" to John & Irene, Rob & Kristin, David & Erica, Matthew & Yesenia, Michael, Christopher & Yulia, and “GG” to Zoë Grace, Liam John, and Nora Loraine Clancy, Caesar Charles Clancy, and Nia Gilmore. She was “My Carole” to her loving caretaker, Tanya Tuz, to whom the family owes a great debt of gratitude.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Martha’s RC Church, 3800 Herbertsville Road, Point Pleasant, NJ. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carole’s memory to St. Michael’s Special School, 1522 Chippewa St., New Orleans, LA 70130, saintmichaelspecialschool.com.
