William L. Coyle, 87 of Spring Lake Heights and formerly of River Edge and Monmouth Beach passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his devoted family.
Born in Jersey City, William had graduated from St. Peter’s Prep and St. Peter’s College, both in Jersey City. He also proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
He went on to a successful career in banking and at the time of his retirement he was the Vice President of Loan Review at Chemical Bank, New York, NY.
As a resident of River Edge he was a member of the American Legion, Post # 226, the Msgr. Burke Council # 5015 of the Knights of Columbus, and a Communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Church.
Since moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1993, William was a Communicant of St. Catharine’s RC Church, Spring Lake and was a member of the Hudson South Men’s Club.
He was predeceased by his parents, his grandson Daniel Donnelly, his great granddaughter Hawk Tassini, and his siblings Joseph Coyle and Joan McGuinness.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Elizabeth Ann Crahay Coyle, his devoted children William and Ellen Coyle of Red Bank, John and Christie Coyle of Hillsdale, Mary Ellen Heller of Stow, Ohio, Beth Ann and Chris Caruso of River Edge, and Susan and Jim Donnelly of Ridgewood and his 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Catharine’s Church, 215 Essex Ave., Spring Lake, NJ 07762. Please go directly to the Church as there will not be a procession from the funeral home prior to Mass.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Way, Memphis, Tenn. 38104.
