Print
Dolores Ann Evangelista, age 86, passed away peacefully at home in Wall Township on Nov 8, 2017 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Evangelista.
Dolores was born in Newark, New Jersey and lived in the Vailsburg section of Newark until moving to Maplewood in 1971. She lived there until her retirement from Seton Hall University and later relocated to Wall Township, New Jersey in retirement.
Dolores worked at Seton Hall University for 30 years, where she managed the campus bookstore and later worked in the Bursar’s Office until her retirement in 1997.
She enjoyed taking trips with her girlfriends, getting together with family, watching the Yankees, making Sunday gravy and meatballs, and laughing at the jokes made by her sons. She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She was exceptionally close with her surviving sister Gloria, of Spring Lake Heights.
Dolores was a truly giving and selfless person and will be missed terribly by friends and family.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Larry and Alana of Rockaway, NJ and Marc and Cary of Spring Lake, her grandson Kyle Evangelista and his wife Gabrielle of Rockaway NJ, granddaughter Nina Tatarski and her husband Joseph of Rumson NJ, and granddaughters Kaitlyn Evangelista of Rockaway NJ and Alexandra Evangelista of Spring Lake. She adored her two great grandsons, Harrison and Everett.
