Obituary for James Peter DiNardo

James Peter DiNardo 90 of Belmar, NJ died Friday, November 10, 2017 at Jersey Shore Univ. Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Jersey City, James lived there and summered in Belmar before moving to Belmar permanently. James was director of Maintenance at Murdoch Hall in Jersey City. During World War II he served in the US Army. He liked to garden and have coffee with his buddies at the Belmar train station. James and his wife, Genevieve traveled extensively. He was also a member of the Tiro A. Segno gun club in Manhattan, and he was very active politically in Hudson County.
James was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years Genevieve “Jean” DiNardo in 2010 and his 14 brothers and sisters. Surviving are his loving daughters, Roseann Scibetta and her husband Anthony, Catherine Morello and her husband Robert, 4 grandchildren; Robert Morello and his wife Jessica, Anthony Scibetta and his wife Melissa, Joseph Scibetta and his wife Kristin and Justin Morello, 4 great grandchildren, Olivia, Isabella, Melody and Anthony J. He also leaves his brother Thomas DiNardo, his 2 sisters Annamarie Lenoci, Gloria Westerfield and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting will be Tuesday, from 8:30 – 10 AM at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd. Wall. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake. Entombment will be in St. Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt. For more information or to send condolences please visit www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
