Elizabeth A. Schmidt, 88, of Point Pleasant Boro passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Mrs. Schmidt was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an active member of the Osbornville Protestant Church in Brick where she participated in the Ladies Aid Group. She also was a member of the Daughters of America. She was a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant.
Mrs. Schmidt was predeceased by her husband, Sgt. First Class Martin L. Schmidt in 1985; and by her son, Leonard R. Schmidt in 2012. Surviving are her son, Martin E. Schmidt and his wife, Dencey of Neptune; daughters, Elizabeth A. Osborn of Point Pleasant and Laura M. Schmidt of Point Pleasant; sisters, Eleanor Daniels of North Carolina and Karen Osborn and her husband, Wayne of Virginia; 8 grandchildren and their spouses; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting will be on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A funeral service will be held on Thursday 10am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
