Obituary for Antonia "Ann" Zito (Caruso)

Ann Zito, 89, of Manasquan, passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center on Friday, November 17th, 2017. Ann was born in the Bronx, New York, in 1928 and travelled to Sant Agata di Puglia, Italy, in 1931. After growing up in Italy, Ann returned to America at the age of 21 and shortly after met the love of her life, Rocco Zito. Rocco and Ann built a beautiful life together with their three children. Ann was an accomplished seamstress who learned her trade while she was a young lady in Italy. Religion played a very large part in Ann’s life and she was an active member of the St. Denis Altar Rosary Society. Everyone who met Ann loved her and she will be missed dearly.
Mrs. Zito was predeceased by her husband, Rocco Zito, her parents, Francesco and Josephina Caruso, as well as her siblings, Agnes Capuano and Adele Iannella. She is survived by her siblings Lucy Donofrio and Sal and his wife Gerry Caruso and her children and their spouses, Rocco and Marie Zito, Luann and John Quigley, and Perry and Joan Zito. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband TJ Feury, Robert, Jillian, Joseph, Christopher and Domenic Zito, and Justin, Brendan and his wife Kelly, Conor, Ryan, and Fiona Ann Quigley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Denis RC Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, NJ 08736. Entombment in St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Sea Girt.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either St. Denis Church, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, NJ 08736 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tn., 38105-9959. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home on Monday.
