Obituary for Frances J. Smith (Sharin)
Frances J. Smith, 89, of Wall, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017.
Mrs. Smith (nee Sharin) was born in Neptune. She lived in Belmar for many years before moving to Wall in 1994. She worked as a Systems Analyst for the Dept. of Defense at Fort Monmouth for many years, prior to retiring. She was a parishioner at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake. But above all else, Mrs. Smith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband, Henry E. Smith, in 2005, her son, Michael Smith, and her brother Matthew J. Sharin. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven R. and Karen Smith, of Tetonia, Idaho, and her daughter-in-law, Lori Smith, of N. Chittenden, Vt. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Steven Trevisan, of Haworth, N.J., Karel and Cliff Aker, of N. Chittenden, Vt., Michael J. Smith, of Baton Rouge, La., and Sean M. Smith, of Tuscaloosa, Al. Also surviving are Mrs. Smith’s great-grandchildren, Justin and Dylan Aker, and Vanessa, Sylvia, Kevin and Vincent Trevisan.
There will be no visitation. A service will be held at St. Catharine’s Cemetery, Resurrection Chapel, in Wall, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at 11 A.M., after which Mrs. Smith will be entombed alongside her late husband. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Smith’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
