Obituary for Richard J Montenegro
Richard J. Montenegro, age 70, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Laurelton Village in Brick. Born in Hoboken, Richard was raised in North Bergen and for the past 15 years has resided in Lakewood.
Mr. Montenegro served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Richard was a graduate of Jersey City State University. He was a Manager for many years at Rocco’s Wine and Liquor in Hoboken before his retirement in 2001.
He is predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Carmela Montenegro and his brother, Benjamin Montenegro.
Surviving are his brother, Peter Montenegro and his wife Lynn of Howell; his sister in law Janice Montenegro of Toms River; 7 nieces and nephews, Deborah, Susan, Peter Jr., Christopher, Lisa, Donna and Ben and 16 great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 12-4 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick with a Service being held at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
