Sheila (nee McCarthy) English, 88, of Wall Township passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2017 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in the Bronx, New York, Mrs. English resided in Yonkers, New York, and lived for 21 years in Spring Lake Heights, New Jersey, and Manchester Township, New Jersey for 10 years before moving to Brandywine at Wall 3 1/2 years ago.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, James English , her sons James, Kevin and John English, and her parents, Cornelius and Margaret McCarthy. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert English (Lina), Belmar, NJ, and her daughters, Mary McGoldrick (Steve), Windsor, Ct., Sheila Connor (John), Southport, NC and Susan Habermann (Phil), Atlantic Highlands, NJ. She is also survived by eleven Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren. Sheila was a loving mother and grandmother (grammy/granny).
Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall,NJ. Everyone is invited to meet at Church for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Catharine's Catholic Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ, 07762. Entombment will follow in St. Catharine Cemetery Mausoleum, Wall, NJ.. Because of health reasons, the family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home on Sunday.
