Barbara Alice Weber-Wright (Sutphen), age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. Born in Paterson, Barbara was raised in Fair Lawn, NJ. A proud graduate of Fair Lawn High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School she spent her early adulthood as a Navy wife, living and raising her family from coast to coast. She has lived in Point Pleasant since 1974 where she worked for the Ocean County Utilities Authority for 25 years, when she took her well-earned retirement.

Barbara attended Jersey Shore Calvary Chapel in Point Pleasant and was a past Rainbow Girl and member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Weber-Wright was a very talented artist and quilter, winning awards for her quilting and painting. She was an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoyed watching college basketball and spending time shopping and dining out with her girlfriends, but her greatest joy was any time that she could spend with her children and grandchildren. She was the model grandma.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Austin in 2005, her grandson Jonathan Sutphen and her brother Richard A. Weber.

Surviving are her children; Harold J. Sutphen and his wife Donna and Joan Sutphen-Glowatz and her husband William and her two grandchildren, Andrew and Alice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd., Brick with a Funeral Service being held at 8:30 p.m. Cremation is private.
