Obituary for Barbara M. Hughes (Jackson)

Barbara M. Hughes, 78, of Brick passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 at the Concord Healthcare and Rehab in Lakewood. Mrs. Hughes retired as a cashier for 35 years at Shop-Rite in Brielle. She was a member of the La Societe De Femmes Cabane 235 in Mercer County and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post # 348 in Brick. She also attended the Brick Baptist Church.
Born in Portland, ME she lived in Asbury Park and Point Pleasant before moving to Brick 48 years ago.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Bill Hughes in August 2017. Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl Klotz and her husband, Mark of South Carolina, Bonnie Lecocq and her husband, Scott of Colorado and Eva Schacht and her husband, Bill of Brick; sister, Joyce Martin of Maine; brother, Gary Jackson of Maine; three grandchildren Shannon, Angela and Lacy; and a great granddaughter, Jaida.
Visiting will be on Thursday from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted on Friday 11am in the funeral home. Burial will take place 1pm at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veteran’s Cemetery, Wrightstown. Donations may be may in her name to the American Legion Aux Post 348, 822 Mantoloking Road, Brick.
