Kathleen M. Flannery (nee Casey), 74 of Manasquan, passed away on January 5, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Rahway, Kathie went on to graduate from Georgian Court College, and became a proud teacher herself. She married her husband Hugh in 1967 and they began their family. Kathie was extremely welcoming, making each person she met feel special. She treated friends like family, and her family like gold. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her.
Kathie was predeceased by her father William Casey, her mother Eileen & stepfather William Roberts, and her brother David Casey. She leaves her devoted husband of 50 years, Hugh; sons- Ryan of Manasquan, Hugh of Point Pleasant, and Patrick & wife Jessie of Delray Beach, FL. Kathie was so proud to be “Nana” to Connor and Ryan Patrick. She also leaves her dear sister-in-law and friend, Mary & husband Nicholas Calise, CMDR USN-Ret., and many dear relatives and friends. With her beautiful red hair and sparkling blue eyes, Kathie enjoyed travelling to California, Ireland, St. John USVI, and Delray Beach to visit her two grandsons.
Memorial Visitation will be at O’Brien Funeral Home, Wall, on Friday from 3-7pm, with a funeral mass to be offered at St. Denis Church, Manasquan, on Saturday at 10am. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
