Obituary for Nicholas John "Nick" Massaro III

Nicholas “Nick” John Massaro, III, 51, of Brick, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018 at home surrrounded by his loving family.
Nick was a life long, talented musician with a passion for the bass guitar. When he wasn’t cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers or New York Yankees, Nick could be found jamming on his drums or breaking out his bass. His home was always filled with music.
Throughout his career Nick played venues throughout the country, but he especially loved playing at the Jersey Shore. To witness him play was to witness him at his happiest – he loved to make people smile with his music.
Above all else, Nick was a proud father to his beloved son Nicholas and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Nick was a 1984 graduate of Long Branch High School where he excelled in baseball, football and musical theater. He often recounted stories of growing up in Long Branch and loved to reminisce about his childhood.
Born in Elizabeth, he grew up in Long Branch before moving to Brick 6 years ago.
Nick is predeceased by his Mother, Barbara Ann Massaro, in 1997. Surviving are his loving Fiance, Pamela Cole, of Brick, and her sons, Andrew Cole, of Toms River, and Ryan Cole, of Point Pleasant; Son, Nicholas John Massaro IV and his fiance, Tara Lynn Francisco, of Union Beach; Father, Nicholas John Massaro Jr. and his wife, Ellen Massaro, of Oakhurst; Sisters, Dawn Massaro-Adams, her husband Keith and son Liam of Atlanta, GA and Nicole Massaro, of Oakhurst; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

As Nick would say “Peace”
