Obituary for William A. Kopper

William Andrew Kopper, 83, of Lakewood, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Kopper was born in Allentown, Pa., and raised in Manhattan, at 33rd St. and 3rd Avenue. After marrying, he moved to Oradell, where he and his wife raised their children and spent 40 years. During that period, they maintained a summer home in Manasquan, and in 1999, they moved to Four Seasons, Lakewood. Mr. Kopper founded Koval Press, a printing firm in Dumont that he operated for 40 years. He later went into the auto and furniture polish industry.
Mr. Kopper was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Frances (Derkits) Kopper, and by his step-sister, Eleanor Kovach. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Anna (Janiga), and their children and their spouses, Kenneth and Jessica Kopper, of Palo Alto, Ca., William P. and Ginna Kopper, of New Milford, N.J., and Lisa Ann and Thomas Lydon, of Huntington Beach, Ca. He was the beloved grandfather of Creagan, Cameron and Anya Lydon, and Declan and Carson Kopper.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, Wall, on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 2-5 PM. The funeral service will be held at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6 Osborn Avenue, Manasquan, on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11 AM, followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Kopper’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6 Osborn Avenue, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
