Obituary for Patricia K Sharkey (Coletta )
Patricia (Coletta) Sharkey, age 70, passed away on Thursday January 25, 2018 surrounded by her family after a brave fight against leukemia. Born in Jersey City NJ Patricia lived in North Bergen and then was a longtime resident of the Jersey Shore living in Brick most of her life.
Along with her husband Gene she worked for over 35 years in the title searching industry throughout New Jersey. She was well respected and made many great friends over her career who will miss her.
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing mahjong and spending time at the pool with her many friends. She was a parishioner of St Martha’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who will love her and remember her always.
Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband and soulmate Eugene in 2012. She was also predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Coletta and her brother James Coletta.
Patricia is survived by her brother Anthony Coletta of Texas, devoted children Christine Darcy and her husband Kevin of Howell, Robert Ventrello of Montoursville PA, Eugene Sharkey Jr and his wife Jeanette of Franklin TN and her grandchildren Allison and Caileigh Darcy, Kaitlyn Sharkey and Treyton Ventrello.
Viewing will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Rd. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 30th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martha’s RC Church Point Pleasant followed by the interment at the NJ Veteran’s Cemetery, Wrightstown at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel.
Donations can be made in Patricia’s name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018.
