Obituary for Frank W. Metelksi

Frank W. Metelski, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 after a brief illness. Frank was born and raised in Bayonne, and a graduate of Bayonne Technical High School class of 1943. Frank was employed by American Products Company, Union, NJ as a skilled machinist until his retirement. Prior to that, Frank was also a machinist at Singer Corporation, Elizabeth, NJ, and he also served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Frank was a devoted husband to Adele for 68 years, and moved to Brick in 1960 where they raised six children. Frank was an avid golfer and loyal fan of NY Giants. Frank was happiest around all his grandchildren, and continued to be active in maintaining his home until his illness.
Frank is survived by his children, Francis "Bud" and Gregory of Boise, ID, William and his wife Barbara of Oakland, NJ, Karen Sullivan of Big Sky, MT, Patricia Villani, of Mendham, NJ, and Bryan and his wife Jil of Southlake, TX, several nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law Anne. He has 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Frank is predeceased by his loving wife Adele, his siblings Anthony, Thaddeus, and Regina Karbach, his sons-in-law Richard J. Sullivan and John T. Villani, and grandson John F. "Jack" Villani. Special thanks to Frank's care giver whose dedicated compassion remained throughout his final year. Frank was a devoted parishioner of St. Dominic's RC Church.
A memorial Mass will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at St. Dominic's RC Church in Brick, with a repast to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of O'Brien Funeral Home, Brick. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Frank's memory would be appreciated to Meals-on-Wheels of Ocean County, 225 Fourth Street, Lakewood, NJ, 08701.
