Obituary for Joanne M. Casey (Williams)

Joanne M. Casey, 83, of Brick passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick surrounded by her family. Mrs. Casey was an executive assistant for many years at the Port Authority of New York / New Jersey in World Trade Center 1, New York City and survived the bombing of 1993 before retiring in 1997. She was a graduate of Weehawken High School as well as Farleigh Dickenson University and a member of St. Dominic’s RC Church in Brick. Mrs. Casey was a member of the Belmar Mayor’s Committee on Senior ADA as well as the Greenbriar II Community in Brick.
Born in Jersey City she grew up in Weehawken and lived in North Bergen, Bogota and Belmar before moving to Brick 9 years ago.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, John A. Casey in 2002 and by her parents, John and Helen Williams. Surviving are children, Jack Casey and his wife, Cammie of Brick; Erin Casey of Brielle, and Hugh Casey of Neptune; sister, Helen Kralich of Spring Hill, FL; 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Alana, Megan and John; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1-5pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A prayer service will be conducted on Sunday at 4:30pm in the funeral home. Donations may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Foundation. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
