Obituary for Evelyn R. Goodall (Durocher)

Evelyn R. Goodall, 88, of Rotonda West, Florida left this earth peacefully on March 11, 2018, and was escorted to heaven on angel wings.
She was brought into this world by Ruth and George Durocher, who along with sisters Doris Barry, Ruth Sullivan and Joan Durocher were waiting at the pearly gates to reunite with her.
Left to cherish her memories are daughters Kathy Mayer, Patti Goodall, Barbara Jacobovich and “son” Chuck Mayer.
She has left this earth but will continue her role as guardian angel to her beloved grandchildren, Will Mayer, Christopher Williams, Nick Mayer, and Jessica and Natalie Jacobovich, and great-grandchildren, Riley, Rory, Reeghan & Reese Mayer, Gabriel Almeida and Kobe Mayer. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jean Goodall and many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Although her greatest joy was nurturing her grandchildren, she enjoyed shopping, fine dining, reading, taking jaunts to Atlantic City, and walking the Boards in Spring Lake. She was always on the go and traveled as often as she could on cruises and trips to Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and St. Thomas.
Although of a calm demeanor, her alter ego arose watching the NY Giants and Knicks and college basketball. Her all time favorite sports figure was Tom Landry who she admired for his “dapper” attire on the field.
Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, Hwy. 35, Wall, on Friday, March 16, 2018, from 9-10 AM, followed by the funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at St. Catharine’s Church, Spring Lake, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to Tidewell Hospice, Philanthropy Dept., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34328. Condolences may be sent via www.obrienfuneralhome.com.
