The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Elvira Pellegrinelli can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Elvira C. Pellegrinelli (Betti)

Elvira C.  Pellegrinelli (Betti)
Elvira Pellegrinelli, 97, Lakewood, went into the arms of the Lord on March 16th. Born in Marseilles France on February 22, 1921, Elvira was brought to the US by her parents before the age of 1. She lived in New York City for most of her childhood, and was always surrounded by a close family of aunts, uncles and cousins. She worked as a seamstress in the garment district during the 1930’s and 40’s. She was married to Aristede Pellegrinelli in April, of 1945. In 1959, she moved to Lincroft, and raised her family there. She was a loving mother and grandmother, extremely generous and always happy to spend time with her family. At the age of 48, after raising her children, she returned to school, earning a degree from Monmouth University and an award for academic excellence. She enjoyed simple parties with family to fancy dinners at a restaurant. She was an accomplished cook and baker, always preparing treats for her grandchildren. She was an avid painter and artist whose works were displayed on numerous occasions. She is predeceased by her parents, Nada and Hugo, and her husband of 58 years, Aristede. She is survived by her sons, David and Steven, her daughter-in-law, Barbara, and her grandchildren, Michael, Kevin, Joseph, Matthew and Kristen.
Visiting will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 4-8pm at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10am on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Dominic’s RC Church, Brick. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
