Obituary for Anne Marie Donovan (Byrne)

Anne Marie Donovan, 85, of Brick, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Donovan was born and raised in Olyphant, Pa. After marrying she moved to Jersey City, where she graduated from Jersey City State Teacher’s College. She later lived in Wall and Brielle, before moving to Cedar Village, Brick, in 2000. Mrs. Donovan was an elementary school teacher, first in the Jersey City schools, and later at St. Catharine’s Grammar School in Spring Lake, from which she retired. She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting and doing cross-stitch embroidery.

Mrs. Donovan was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Florence Byrne, and by her brother, John M. Byrne. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Donald Donovan, her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Kevin O’Sullivan, of Hillsdale, N.J., her granddaughter, Caitlin O’Sullivan, and her brothers, Joseph and Edward Byrne. She will be very missed by her family.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 9-11AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, and burial at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall, will follow.
